This volume consists of the bio-bibliography on the history of astrology, as an eighth field of science covered by the series on the history of science in the Muslim world. It also contained additions and corrections, i.e. supplements to the volume on astronomy, which was the first volume in the series. The Introduction by Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu recapitulates the overall features and findings of the project during the twenty-five years of its implementation. It also reviews the main trends and features of the science of astrology in the Muslim world, describes the way it was perceived and practiced, classifies and describes the main types of works that form the body of Ottoman astrology literature.
